In this time, video conferencing is at an all-time high, and Zoom, Skype, WebEx, and Microsoft Teams are popular tools. I personally have used all of them and each of them has idiosyncrasies, but recently I noticed one in particular to Teams. During a call when someone is presenting, the bottom control bar introduces a large button that says “Request control” which continually causes issues. When presenting participants accidentally hit this button which causes the screen to stop sharing unbeknownst to the speaker until someone on the call says, “Hey Bob, we can’t see your presentation anymore.” Due to Fitt’s Law, since the target is the largest one it attracts the user to mistakenly select it.
